Isometric ($ISO): The Intent Network
Isometric, $ISO, and the Future of Cube Exchange
Cube started as a hybrid exchange, but we’ve evolved into much more. Over the past year, we’ve built: A highly performant matching engine, offering atomic cross-book liquidity. A decentralized MPC custody layer, enabling native settlement across multiple blockchains like Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more. A Guardian Network that runs on a custom Solana fork with multiple validators. This powers our settlement layer, allowing trades to settle across chains without sacrificing security or speed. This brings us to the next part of our journey.
Introducing Isometric - The Intent Network Isometric builds on Cube’s foundation with four key components: Intent-based transaction network Verifiable multi-chain settlement Two-tiered Validator Consensus MPC integration layer
The concept of an ‘intent’ is central to Isometric's architecture and represents how we’ve approached multi-chain transactions from day 1 at Cube. Intents are signed messages that represent actions like swaps or limit orders that get submitted to and executed by the Isometric Network, which then settles back to different L1s. If you used Cube this year you already used a form of intents by placing orders into our order books.
Isometric is built with the SVM as its foundation, and is designed for maximum performance, security, and interoperability. Our Composer takes intents from the user, routes them through the SVM on Solana, and then pushes them to the MPC layer for secure, multi-chain execution.
Recently we built Implied Order Books on top of our intent execution system. This system executes cross-book arbitration strategies across multiple chains, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. This on-chain calculation allows orders to route through different networks and settle across three chains, proving the robustness of the system. You can use it on our exchange today, but it’s just the beginning of what’s possible on the Isometric network.
We’re pushing intent verification to a new level. Users can submit intents via non-custodial wallets, OpenID with zero-knowledge proofs, or passkeys. Our MPC layer handles composition, verification, and reification—avoiding risky custom smart contracts and bridges while interacting directly with L1s.
There are two major tiers of active network participants: Guardians & Validators. Guardians hold MPC shares. Compartmentalized key rotation allows for different subsets of guardians for different users. Guardians are rewarded for participating in distributed key generation and signing, as well as continuous network participation and availability. Validators participate in intent verification and maintain overall network consensus.
Introducing $ISO - The backbone of the Isometric Network$ISO will power governance, staking, and secure decentralized custody, enabling users, validators, and guardians to maintain network integrity while unlocking new opportunities for decentralized intent-based transactions.
A look at our upcoming roadmap Q1: Opening the Guardian Network to new participants Q2: $ISO token & Mainnet launch Q3: Full transition to open permissionless model The future of Cube is bright. We hope you join us for the next part of our journey.
